I thought that I was tracking someone for a minute, and then the blip disappeared.
I suggested to master that we slow down, and see if it reappears, but he suggested that it was trying desperately to keep up with us, and the farther ahead we were the better.
Master seems a little distracted though.
As we travel further, and as I think about it, I am becoming unsure what the exact point of this mission is.
I hate to elaborate further, but think...
This ship isn't worth the trouble for training even.
Why would someone follow us here?
Hope to hear from some more travellers as I go.

Day 4
This is the boring part. Sitting on board waiting to get where you're going. I'm terribly bored, and the Rune DX is a close ship, relatively speaking. It should only take about 3 days to get there at our current speed.
The Carrionstar is mostly engine and bridge. There are two other, small non descript rooms, but that's it for excitement.
There's the RealGen to play with, but as pilot, I can only be out of contact for an hour at a time. That, and I've almost played out the RealGen as far as that goes. I'm king of the universe in several campaigns already. Ordering people around gets boring. So does restarting the campaigns.
There are some worlds I haven't tried, yet. They are either scaryhard, or childish.
Then, I'm supposed to be working on my engineering and ship study. Ship study, of course, is mostly the history of wars. Finding out where some small battle occurred and analyzing flight patterns so that I will be able to scout myself for wrecks.
Most transmissions, though, are alien code and Navplots of dubious origin, or simply code tags that are not real messages, but have messages buried in them. The codes, though, are quantum codes, and, even with massive computer databases they tend to stay uncracked.
My master is a genius at these things.
I am not.
Time to check to see if I've picked up a pursuer.
I hope I do, sometimes, it would break the monotony.
Peace

Day3
It was a blast.
It is one thing to simulate a trip, and quite another to pilot a starship.
Same controls, same computer, same same same.
Totally different when the engines respond, and the ship moves because of your commands.
Especially when the crosswarp kicks in. Watching the ship phase into ultra matter space is quite something.
I mean, so little actually happens. You don't feel anything, you hardly hear anything. Yet, there go the navplots, and we're off. Nearly 10,000 lyph. Dancing around what's left of the universe.
I am excited, exhausted (haven't slept since I started navplotting), and happy as I've ever been.
Good luck, and Peace friends.

Rune DX: Day 2
The navplotting was boring drudgery and quite awful, but ultimately, it appears, that I got the hang of it, and have laid in enough points to get us to where the Rune DX awaits.
The Rune DX is a large two engine vessel. The engines are of the original Galaxy type. The Galaxy engines were the first engines that were able to enter and exit warps without the need for stargates. It also utilized the inter hyper space units without getting trapped.
Original Galaxy engines are rare now. As I suppose, are most things.
That is why we seek ships out.
I have known nothing but this vast darkness that we search in. Thank the universe that the previous generations were so wasteful.
I try not to think about it, and Navplotting gave me a lot of time not to think about it.
Does anyone else have a good trick to cope with the emptiness? Does anyone feel overwhelmed? That's why I'm here.
When there are so few of us, we should stay in touch.
We're getting ready to move out. Gotta run.
Peace

Rune DX: First Assgnment: Unit One
I am very excited! Today I have my first assignment. The Rune DX will be my first hook up. I have decided to post here for other apprentice captains to observe and help out.
I am only 14.
I have apprenticed on the Carrion Star for 3 years, now. Arranging meals, checking the bots, babysitting the navstar. Sitting, bored out of my mind, on the commad deck while my captain secured the catch.
The Rune DX, though, will be all mine. From Navplotting, which I am starting today, fuel estimation, catch time and hook up will be all under my command. Well, not that there's anyone to command, but at least I get off this ship!
Alright, I am a little frightened. I know, and have listened too, and experienced the captains tapes of his catches, but this is a small fry. We got some extra energy credits from our last tow, and so captain thought that we can burn some of that on a lighter "training" run.
So, here I am. 14 years old. Any advice?
I'll be navplotting for a while. It's in a fairly crowded sector...well, crowded for this galaxy. What's left of it.
